If you have got an NDIS plan, you have probably heard the words plan managed, self managed and agency managed. Here is what they mean in plain terms, and what they mean for joining a program like ours.
The three types, quickly
Agency managed means the NDIS pays providers directly for you. Plan managed means a plan manager pays the bills on your behalf. Self managed means you handle the payments yourself. That is the short version.
Why it matters for joining us
The main thing it affects is choice. Plan managed and self managed plans can usually use a wider range of providers. Agency managed plans can generally only use NDIS registered providers.
Which providers can I use?
If you are plan managed or self managed, you have got more freedom to pick the provider that suits you best. If you are agency managed, it is worth checking whether a provider is registered before you sign up.
